A traditional spirit of the Trieste Karst plateau made from Terrano, an indigenous wine produced from the grapes of the variety protected by the Carso Doc appellation.
The red soil (jerina) rich in ferrous salts and minerals that characterises the area, gives Terrano its unmistakable decisive, acidic mark, but with a fruity bouquet reminiscent of raspberries, and a ruby red colour that fades to violet.

Product origin: Produced in Trieste, Friuli Venezia Giulia
Method of production: Carefully selected traditional spices and bonbons are added during the boiling of the wine. After a period of rest and infusion, the award-winning Millefiori honey from Farma Jakne in San Giovanni di Duino and a local grappa are added to regulate the sweetness and alcohol content.
Sensory profile: In the Terrano Knex Spirits liqueur, the full-bodied character of Terrano wine is blended with the sweetness of honey. Intense shades of violet and dark red are complemented by the aromas of cloves, orange, tonka bean, rosemary and cinnamon.
Serving suggestion: In summer it is best served chilled, while in colder seasons it can also be enjoyed at ambience temperature.

Amâr de Clevo is obtained by macerating some herbs. It is a solubilization operation consisting in treating with water or alcohol at room temperature some substances in order to extract their bitter properties, which give the bitter taste. The period of maceration varies from few days to many months (in our case about two months) and afterwards the pressing is done, that is a "squeezing" of the mixture which is finally filtered.
The ingredients of this liqueur are water, food-grade ethyl alcohol, brown sugar, caramelized sugar and bitter medicinal herbs (which are not fully enumerable as the recipe is secret), including gentian, mountain pine buds, valerian and other mixed plants that come from these places where pollution has not yet arrived, but ecosystems are threatened by rising global temperatures. Gentian includes about 400 species.
