The kipfel with vanilla is an Austrian biscuit, firmly implanted in the tradition of Trieste, especially on the occasion of the Christmas holidays. The characteristic crescent shape is one of the many transmigrations (as in the case of potato chifels) of the first loaves created in Vienna in memory of the victory over the Turks.
