Regional Competition SALAMI FVG 2024 - 1st Edition

For the first time in Friuli Venezia Giulia, the undisputed homeland of SalamiSan Daniele ham and Frico, there will be a competition dedicated to homemade salami.

"The ONAS Friuli Venezia Giulia delegation will present the first edition of the Competition for the "SALAMI FVG 2024" award to be given to the best minced meat products made in the territory.

March 16, 2024 - Trieste

The review aims to:

  1. enhance one of the most identifiable products of regional charcuterie and that best interpret the tradition, history and characteristics of the territory;
  2. foster awareness of charcuterie products from the Friuli-Venezia Giulia territory in order to strengthen their presence in regional, national and foreign markets;
  3. stimulate producers towards a path of constant quality improvement of their product through dialogue with other companies and comparison with a panel of judges composed of highly technical specialization.

Six categories of cured meats from minced meat competed. An ONAS panel and a liking panel will choose the best products to be awarded at the ceremony on March 16 in Trieste at the close of the Conference "Salami FVG and the Enhancement of Norcine Productions of Excellence in Friuli Venezia Giulia."

Participation, which is reserved for companies with their own production units on the entire territory of Friuli-Venezia Giulia (Regulations attached), is free of charge and is subject to:

  • to the completion of the attached application form to be sent by February 26, 2024 by email to the following addresses onas@onasitalia.org and fvg@onasitalia.org
  • to the submission of a product sample to be received during the week of March 4-11, 2024.

The list of all participants in the Contest will be widely communicated in the press, including the trade press, and will be mentioned in a special issue of the digital magazine ONAS Review.
In addition, the award-winning products will be highlighted by ONAS at specific events organized by all Regional Delegations as part of a week dedicated to "FVG Salami" to be held throughout the country during 2024."
